VDM Leads Candle Light procession, in Honor of Murdered Anambra Business Man; Fish Magnet

A candle light procession and tribute was held in Akwa, The Anambra State Capital on the 5^th August, led by Martins Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man (VDM) and Lord Zeus, the procession commenced from the Aroma junction to the Fish Magnets Office at Ring Road, Akwa in Anambra state. The procession was to raise awareness on the security situation in Anambra state and Nigeria in general. The procession was led by popular online personalities like VDM and Lord Zeus, the sad and emotional event drew a large crowd of sympathizers, mourners and fans who came to honor the late entrepreneur, they were accompanied by the Men of The Anambra State police command.

What Happened to Onyekesi Martins Ifesinachi, AKA: "Fish Magnet" ?

On the 27^th July 2025, Onyekesi Martins Ifesinachi, was kidnapped at his residence in Ezinifite village, Okpuno, Awka South local Government Area, of Anambra state, the attackers had Reportedly trailed the business man before launching their violent attack, it was reported that during the attack, he was first shot in the leg before he was forcibly abducted from his Home, despite Ransom payment, The Fish Magnet was later found dead on the road side, sending shock waves through the community and the entire country.

What VDM Said at The Event.

Very dark man (VDM) speaking at the event, said the gathering was about mourning the gruesome murder of fish magnet, he blamed the murder of Fish magnet on the leaders of all tiers of Government saying their failure to provide adequate security caused his death, while blaming the poor security situation on the leaders , he said they needed to do more , he said the leaders were more bothered about the forth coming elections than security priorities in the country. He also pleaded with Anambra people not to stop patronizing the smoked fishes, from the fish magnet out let so that the business would not die with the owner.

Who was Onyekesi Martins Ifesinachi;  A.K.A 'Fish Magnet'

 Onyekesi Martins Ifesinachi,  A.K.A: "Fish Magnet", was an enterprising young business man who defied the odds of unemployment in the country, to set up a vey thriving and popular business, he not only created employment for himself, he also created employment for others, there by empowering himself and others financially. His business also provided fish to the community and helped in the growth of the fisheries economic ecosystem in Awka, Anambra state, indirectly providing employment to others within the ecosystem. He used the internet to digitally market and create awareness for his business, while others use the internet for cybercrime, tarnishing the image of the entire country, He used it innovatively, creating an entire digital enterprise for his business and becoming a social media influencer of worthy note in the process, and a positive role model in the society,  thereby motivating and encouraging youths and others to do the same.

Police Reaction to the planed procession.

The Anambra State police command, cautioned against holding any public  procession for the managing Director of the fish magnet outlet, Mr onyekere Martins Ifesinachi, according to an online publication, the Anambra police command release a statement which read in part “The commissioner of police , CP Ikioye Orutugu has issued a very stern warning to the Social media influencer, Mr. Martins Otse,  popularly know as VDM  cautioning him against making any statement or taking actions capable of disrupting the peace within the state, The CP also noted the decision of the family of late Mr, Onyekere Matins Ifesinachi, The Managing Director of Fish Magnet Outlet, to publicly dissociate themselves from the candle light procession or memorial  gathering been organized in his name, Mr Ikenga, further stated that "the police would not allow any individual or group regardless of their social standing, to disrupt the peace of the State. He appealed to Very dark man (VDM) and the other organizers of the gathering to respect the privacy of the family of the late business man and allow them to grieve in Peace and to place their trust in Authorities to carry out their duties, The CP said in the statement,

The Commissioner assured the victim’s family and the entire Populace of the State, that security operatives would apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators according to the law.
